Parent's Guide: Choosing Young Achievers for Online Education

Updated: Dec 5

(From the Principal’s Desk)

Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions a parent can make. Parents often call us with the same essential questions: Will my child adjust? Will they be supported? Will online learning truly work?

This post gives you the same clear explanation I provide on those calls — so more families can understand who we are, how we operate, and why our programme works so well for Caribbean students at home and abroad.

Our History: Established, Experienced, and Ahead of the Curve

Our school has been registered since 2011. In 2016, we transitioned into a blended online programme, long before the pandemic pushed other schools into emergency online learning.

This means we didn’t “switch” online — we have years of structure, training, and systems already in place. Parents immediately see the difference between established online schooling and the chaos many experienced during 2020.

Our Flipped Classroom Model: Confidence Through Preparation

We use the flipped classroom model, which benefits all types of learners — visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic.

Before the live lesson, students receive:

  • Video notes

  • Guided exercises

  • Key explanations

This allows them to enter class already familiar with the material. It builds confidence, reduces anxiety, and increases participation — especially for shy or easily overwhelmed learners.

If a student misses a class, they can catch up easily because the notes and videos are already available, and their coach supports them in filling any gaps.

Weekly Structure: Live Classes + Coaching

Our timetable is clear and consistent:

  • Live classes run Monday to Thursday.

  • Fridays are for academic coaching, independent work, and targeted support—not a “free day.”

This means even on Fridays, students are engaged, guided, and supervised academically.

Student Support That Goes Beyond the Classroom

Every student works closely with our Academic Coach, who holds a masters in education, an undergraduate degree in psychology and certification in mental health.

She meets students twice weekly to:

  • Monitor academic performance

  • Build emotional resilience

  • Help with organisation and planning

  • Provide early intervention

We do not allow problems to grow silently. We step in immediately.

Our Full-Time CSEC Programme

Students study six core subjects over two years:

  • Mathematics

  • English A

  • Spanish

  • Human & Social Biology

  • Principles of Business

  • Principles of Accounts

In the third year, students are registered to sit their CSEC exams as private candidates.

Live classes take place via Google Meet with Google Classroom as the organisation hub. Cameras are required only during roll call or when requested by the teacher.

Assessments, Attendance, and Parental Role

We conduct end-of-term assessments and issue digital report cards. Parents are responsible for ensuring students log in on time and follow the timetable provided.

Fees & Discounts

Our fees vary depending on the programme. We offer a family discount for siblings, cousins, and step-children. Payment plans are available, but they must begin before the term starts. Once classes begin, only full payments are accepted.

Fully Online Enrollment

Enrollment is simple and completely online. Families may pay using:

  • Local bank transfer

  • WiPay

  • PayPal

  • Local or international bank cards

The registration steps are straightforward:

  1. Complete the free registration form

  2. Receive your confirmation email

  3. Make your payment

  4. Attend orientation

  5. Begin classes — with support already in place

Final Thoughts

We are more than an online school — we are a structured, student-centred, Caribbean-rooted educational environment built on professionalism, experience, and genuine care for our students.
